Maria Elena Valenzuela
Maria Elena Valenzuela, 89, of Alpine, Texas, passed away on October 28, 2025.
Maria was born on September 24, 1936, to parents Martin and Cruz Valenzuela in Ojinaga, Chihuahua, Mexico. Maria relocated to Redondo Beach, California, and later to Alpine. Alpine gave Maria a sense of belonging as a part of a wonderful community.
On November 14, 1974, Maria was blessed to welcome her daughter Marcy Bauman into the world.
Over her lifetime, Maria worked in various fields, including manufacturing, the service industry, and retail, always exhibiting a strong work ethic no matter the task. Maria was a devoted mother to her only child, Marcy.
Family and faith were both pillars of Maria’s life. We thank God for Maria’s life and, though our lives will be different without her, we trust that her memory will not be forgotten.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Martin and Cruz Valenzuela; brothers: Jose, Raul, Baudelia, Oscar, and Naldo; and sisters: Elva Beltran, Estella Quiroz, and Elma Elia Cervantes.
She is survived by her daughter, Marcy Bauman; nephews: Ruben Cervantes Jr. and wife Rebecca, Jose Cervantes and wife Mary; nieces: Martha Milliorn and husband Bobby, Angelica Valenzuela and husband Steve, Blanca Golson and husband Ronnie, Cynthia Fostel and husband Brett; sister: Elpidia Trejo and husband Jesus.
A memorial service for Maria Valenzuela will be held on November 8 at 11 a.m. at the First Baptist Church in Alpine. 203 N. 4th Street. In lieu of flowers, donations in Maria’s honor may be sent to the Sunshine House of Alpine.
