Kathleen Seale Withers
Kathleen Seale Withers passed from this realm Sunday morning, Nov. 13, after a long battle with cancer. Kathleen was born October 29, 1956, to H. Kyle and Ora Lee Hesskew Seale in San Antonio.
Kathleen had an active mind and was always learning. Her numerous hobbies included scrimshaw, engraving, quilting, needlepoint, spinning yarn, and knitting. She loved nature and traveled extensively, including two trips to the Antarctic, a tent camp on an ice floe within the Arctic Circle, trips to Europe, Israel, Japan, Great Britain, Central America, South America, Cuba, and Mexico. She was an avid birder with an extensive “life list” of wild bird species she had observed worldwide.
Kathleen also loved children and took delight in time spent with her nieces and nephews as they were growing up. She supported various Christian schools and colleges monetarily, as well as many churches, monasteries, and ministries.
Above all, Kathleen was a prayer warrior.
As she grew older, she utilized much of her time in quiet reflection and prayer. It was important to her to be available to pray with, and for, anyone who asked.
Kathleen is survived by her husband of 32 years, Mark Withers; her siblings, Daniel Seale, Carolyn Seale (Carol Lee), Stephen Seale and Sherri, Victoria Seale and Jim, and Marian Seale Freeland; numerous nieces and nephews, Emily Seale Buescher and Gordon, Quincy Seale and Natalie, Arlen Seale and Maggie, Rebecca Seale McCarthy and John, Atticus Freeland, Wesley Freeland and Megan, Ivy Freeland, and Brooks Freeland; and great-nieces and nephews, including Ada Rose Buescher, Brewton Buescher, Alexander Seale, Montana, Gracie, and Kyle Wayne McCarthy, and a host of friends around the world.
A graveside service was held for Kathleen on Nov. 29, in Atascosa County, Texas.
Rest well, sweet Kathleen.
