Katharine Ann Crockett Davis was a beautiful person inside and out. She was a gifted concert pianist whose rich alto voice was often lifted to praise Jesus Christ. Katharine took her final bow at home in Alpine, Texas on October 21, 2022. She was surrounded by her family who will especially miss her wisdom, her smile, her turkey and gravy, and her infectious laugh.

Katharine made her debut in Havre, Montana on August 26, 1934. She was welcomed by her parents Jean & John Crockett, her brother John and sister Margery (Tede). Her little brother, David, had not made his entrance yet. Her audience of admirers included her husband, Samuel Davis. Their duet began at The University of Montana in Missoula where Sam played trumpet in the “Moon Moods” dance band while Katharine won the “Moonlight Girl” competition. They wed and lived in harmony for 67 years.

Others in her audience who were recipients of her love, talent and wit were her son, Jay Davis, daughter Alicia Davis Harris, son-in-law Steven Harris & a multitude of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends whom she cherished so very deeply. The family is especially grateful to Jeanette and Connie who made her final performance so comfortable and joyful with reading, quilting and singing.
