Johnny Fitzgerald, age 71, of Dayton, passed away peacefully on May 10, 2026, with his loving wife by his side. He was born on July 15, 1955, in El Paso.

Johnny was preceded in death by his father, James Fitzgerald Sr.; his mother, Annie Donohoo; and his brother, Sammy Fitzgerald.

Johnny had a deep love for the outdoors and truly enjoyed life’s simple pleasures. He loved hunting, fishing, boating, BBQ gatherings, riding his Harley, and cruising with the top down in his Jeep. Throughout his life, Johnny worked hard and dedicated many years to electrical companies and air conditioning work before eventually settling into truck driving with CC Cobb and Andrew Logistics.

Johnny will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 10 years, Joan; stepdaughter, Candi Scott; grandson, Kage Scott; sister, Anna (Drew) Burns; brothers, James Fitzgerald and Randall (Angelia) Fitzgerald; sister-in-law, Tracie Fitzgerald; niece, Chesney Fitzgerald; and great-niece, Blakeley Rae.

Johnny’s memory will live on through the love of his family, the stories shared among friends, and the countless lives he touched throughout his years.

A celebration of life service will be announced at a later date.
