Irene “Nene” Gallego Espinoza, a lifelong resident of Alpine, was called home to glory on April 24 with her beloved family by her side. Nene was laid to rest at Holy Angels Cemetery in Alpine.

Those serving as pallbearers were Jimmy Lee Gallego, Elyas Gallego, Alejandro Baeza, Leonel Baeza Jr., Benito Gallego, and JB Gallegos.

Nene was a God-fearing and joyful woman. She is remembered for her faith and devotion to Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church. She loved her family completely and would do anything for her family and friends. She was an excellent grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother. Nene loved to dance and has gone on to dance with the Lord.

Nene is reunited in death with her husband, Modesto Espinoza, her daughter Michelle Conant, and with her three siblings, Lydia Leyva, Lorisa Gallego, and Ben Gallegos.

Those left to honor and cherish the memory of Irene is her daughter Yolie Espinoza; her son Michael Espinoza; brothers Ruben Gallego, Jimmy Gallego and BJ Gallego; her sister Dean Celaya; grandchildren Andrea Autry and husband Roy Autry, Modesta Galindo and Michael Anthony Wright and wife Heather; her great-grandchildren Michelle Turrey, Selena Turrey, Leonel Baeza Jr, Alejandro Baeza, Ian Salinas, Kayson Salinas, Elian Galindo, Alejandra Wright Corbin, Gabriella Wright and Victoria Wright; great-greatgranddaughter Annaleigh Corbin as well and many nieces and nephews.
