Elizabeth Granado Pineda, a devoted caregiver, beloved daughter, sister, and aunt, passed away peacefully on August 22 at the Central Texas Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Ballinger, Texas. She was 67 years old.

Born on June 17, 1958, in Marfa, Elizabeth, affectionately known as Liz, was the daughter of Faustino Pineda III and Delia Granado.

Liz graduated from Odessa High School and earned her Medical Assistant certification in El Paso before returning to her beloved West Texas. She settled in Alpine and received her LVN certification from Sul Ross State University on August 18, 1990.

Liz served the Big Bend region with dedication,

working at Big Bend Regional Medical Center in Alpine and clinics in Marfa and Presidio. She later worked in hospitals and nursing homes in the Odessa-Midland area before making San Angelo her home.

Known for her vibrant spirit, Liz loved life’s simple celebrations. Halloween was a favorite, and she delighted in creating costumes for her son Daniel and her nieces and nephew.

Elizabeth was preceded in death by her beloved son, Daniel Pineda, whose memory she carried with her always.

She is survived by her mother, Delia Granado Gallego of Midland; her sisters Nadine Mata of Sierra Vista, Arizona, and Margarita Aktas of Odessa; her brother Johnny Pineda of Fort Stockton; as well as 11 nieces, six nephews, and a host of extended family and friends who deeply loved her.

A celebration of Elizabeth’s life will be held on October 4, 2025, at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Fort Davis. The Rosary will begin at 9:30 a.m., followed by Mass at 10 a.m. Her ashes will be laid to rest at St. Joseph’s Cemetery, where she will be reunited with her son in eternal peace.

Arrangements are entrusted to Lange Funeral Home in Ballinger.
