Chastity Ann-Marie Torres-Vega, a cherished homemaker and loving family member, passed away on December 2 in Odessa at the age of 48. Born on January 1, 1976, in Alpine, she grew up surrounded by the warmth of family and the spirit of her hometown.

Chastity was a proud graduate of Alpine High School, where she cultivated lifelong friendships and cherished memories that would always hold a special place in her heart. Her life as a homemaker was not simply a career for her; it was a reflection of her nurturing nature and her love for her family. Chastity poured her heart into creating a warm and inviting home for her loved ones.

Music was one of Chastity’s

great passions. She found joy in listening to the sounds of George Strait, Dolly Parton, and Johnny Cash, often filling her home with melodies that brought comfort and joy to those around her. In the kitchen, Chastity displayed remarkable skill, delighting her family and friends with her cooking and baking. Her famous enchiladas and the traditional bischochos became legends in her circle, often requested and never forgotten.

Chastity’s love and compassion extended beyond her human family to the animals she adored, including her beloved German Shepherd, Clover. She had a unique way of connecting with animals, demonstrating her gentle spirit and kind heart. She is survived by her beloved husband, Guadalupe “Cuate” Chavez Vega; her devoted daughter, Savannah Vega; her daughter’s boyfriend, Saul Baeza; her father, Vivian Torres; her sister, Virtudes “Birdie” Torres; and her cherished companion, Clover.

Chastity was preceded in death by her mother, Diana Valencia, and her brother, Robert Valencia. Her legacy will live on in the hearts of all who knew her, remembered for her warmth, culinary talents, and the love she shared unconditionally. The impact she had on her family and friends is immeasurable, and she will be deeply missed.
