Alice Maurine Pendleton
Alice Maurine Pendelton, 94, of Alpine, passed away on August 5, peacefully with her son Leslie Lanier, daughter Lisa Lanier, and grandson Justin Rowan by her side after a courageous battle with dementia. She faced her illness with remarkable strength and grace, giving it her all until the very end.
Born May 16, 1931, in Stamford, Texas, Maurine grew up with a love for family, faith, and community. She dedicated her life to her family, raising her children with unconditional love and unwavering guidance. She was known for her warm hospitality, quick wit, and a heart big enough to welcome anyone to her table.
Maurine is survived by her children, Leslie Lanier and Lisa LaVerne Lanier, her brother Carl Carlile, four grandchildren, and two greatgrandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ray and LaVerne Carlile, her sister, Marda Gamble, and her daughters, Linda Jo Lanier and Marlee Lanier.
A memorial service will be held at the Unitarian Universalist Church of the Big Bend at 1308 N. 5th Street at 11 a.m., August 16, with Reverend Robert Flanders offi ciating.
