George Ann Wilson

George Ann Wilson, beloved mother, sister, and friend, passed peacefully into the arms of Jesus on November 9, 2025, surrounded by the people who loved her most. In her final hours, her family gathered close and played one of her favorite comforts— The Gilded Age. As the familiar scenes filled the room, Georgie rested peacefully, surrounded by warmth, love, and the people who meant the world to her. Her children and her two devoted sisters held her hands as she took her final breath, a moment filled with tenderness, gratitude, and grace.

Born on July 24, 1959, in Alpine, Georgie, grew into a woman defined by quiet strength, deep faith, and unwavering devotion to her family. She pursued her education with determination, graduating from Midland College with a degree in Computer Science, excelling in a field where she forged her own path with intelligence and perseverance.

Georgie primarily worked in booking over the years. Many may remember her from her years working in the bookkeeping department at City Drug Store. She had such a special way about her — a mix of humor, kindness, and genuine care. She had a way of connecting with people. When you talked to Georgie, she made you feel like she truly cared because she honestly listened, was present, engaged in the conversation, and empathetic. She laughed easily and often, bringing lightness to every workday. Her coworkers loved her fun spirit, and it was hard not to smile when she was around. Many will remember her for her laughter and her way of making any situation fun.

She also worked at Alpine Vet Clinic, where she had the same wonderful effect on customers. It was during that time that she discovered her deep love for animals — especially her dogs. She absolutely cherished her pets, often dressing them up, taking pictures, and sharing stories that had everyone laughing. She built many friendships over the years with coworkers who just loved working with her. She was always the heart of the team.

Georgie was playful at heart. Her grandchildren, nieces, and nephews adored her and always seemed to gravitate toward her during family gatherings. She had a joyful spirit and a great sense of humor that brought everyone together. The kids would always want her around because she would have everyone laughing with her stories. She was so very patient with the kids, playing with them, crafting at Christmas, and watching funny animal videos, crying from laughter.

Many people may not know that Georgie had a deep love for science and history. She would spend hours reading and researching everything from famous ships and great inventions to astronomy and the lives of influential historical figures. Her curiosity was endless, and she loved learning just for the joy of it. You could ask her about almost anything, and she would share interesting facts or thoughtful insights that showed just how much she had absorbed. It was one of the many things that made Georgie such a fascinating and engaging person to talk to. When the family traveled, they always shared their experiences with Georgie because she was so fascinated with the world around her.

As the youngest sister — the “baby of the family” — Georgie had a special closeness with her parents and sisters. Family meant everything to her, and she loved spending time with them. Georgie lived a life grounded in compassion for those around her. She cherished her family deeply, celebrating every accomplishment of her children and grandchildren and offering encouragement with a gentle and caring heart. Her warmth, humor, and resilience reflected a quiet but steadfast faith and a deep appreciation for the many blessings God placed in her life. She is lovingly survived by her children, Jennifer and Brett Powell of Midland and their children, Jenna and James Powell; Kiki and Beau Coggins of Alpine and their son, Justin; Mikel and Nicole Talley of Alpine and their children, Conner, Dane, and Carson; and Blake Talley of Alpine. She is also survived by sisters Sara and Richard Gluck of Alpine and Ginny Fuquay of Odessa, as well as many nieces and nephews- Chris Henderson of Austin and his wife Heather and daughter Aven; Kathleen Burnett of Brownwood and her husband Sammy and their children Kennedy and Leighton Burnett and Christian and Tatum DeHart; Jacque Rousselow of Alpine and her husband Josh and children Roam and River; Kenny Johnson of Allen and his wife Lisa and children Alex and Arianna; and Ruthann Johnson of Allen and her children Cody, Tyler, and Brooklyn. Her legacy lives on through their lives, their memories, and the love she poured into each and every one of them. Georgie is now reunited with her beloved parents, Gus and Lope Lines, late husband Larry Jackson, and former brother-in-law Jack Bow who all went to the Lord before her. A private celebration of her life will be held with close family.
