Johanna Wells, Alpine: We actually went on our summer vacation last week. We went to the beach at Cinnamon Shore on Mustang Island.

Billy Jack Ray, Alpine: My wife Jennifer and I went to Cimarron, N.M., last week and are planning a camping trip to Lajitas.

Annie Willow, Alpine: Not this year. I call Alpine “magic mountain,” and love exploring all its hidden treasures. I recently moved to Alpine from Galveston, and I happily traded seashells for crystals.

David Marwitz, Marfa: We have not been to El Paso lately, so we will go three or four days, run errands, and catch up on things. Long-term plans are to go to Mexico City and see the artwork, museums, and architecture.

Rachel Hall, Terlingua/Lajitas: I am planning a quick getaway to treat myself and enjoy cooler weather. I love vacationing up in Alpine. It is the farthest I have been in almost two years.
