Margaret R. Martinez, 99, of Marfa, Texas, passed away on Aug. 29, 2022, in Marfa.

Praying of the Most Holy Rosary will be held on Monday, Sept. 5, 2022, at 7 p.m. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Marfa, with Mass of Christian burial on Tuesday, Sept. 6, 2022, at 10 a.m. with Father Victorino Loresca officiating. Internment will

follow at Merced Cemetery in Marfa.

Margaret was born in Marfa on Nov. 15, 1922, to William and Esther Rice. She married Luis Martinez, Jr. She was a homemaker.

She is survived by sons Ben Louis (Maria) Martinez, Oscar (Mary Lou) Martinez, Robert (Marion) Martinez, and Samuel (Michelle) Martinez; daughters Veronica (Michael) Campbell and Margie (Alonso) Mendoza; 21 grandchildren; 28 great grandchildren; and five great great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Luis Martinez, Jr., daughter Monica M. Cantu, and son Augustin R. Martinez.

Pallbearers will be Louis A. Martinez, Benjamin Martinez, Daniel Mendoza, Christian Campbell, Marcus Nunez, and Benjamin P. Martinez.
