Benjamin Macias III of San Jose, Calif., passed away April 6, 2022. Services for Ben will be held on Saturday, July 2, 2022, at Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church in Alpine, Texas. Rosary will be at 9:30 a.m., followed by the mass.

Ben was born Dec. 8, 1951, in Alpine to Ofelia and Benjamin. Ben graduated from Alpine High School. After graduation he joined the U.S. Air Force. He retired from IBM. He was also a coach and president of EYAC youth football and baseball in San Jose.

Ben was preceded in death by his parents, Ofelia and Benjamin, and brother George Macias.

He is survived by brothers Orlando (Irma) of San Jose, Michael Macias, Sr., of Alpine; sister Norma Cruz (the late Charlie) of Hobbs, N.M.; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Serving as pallbearers will be Frank Villanueva, Willie Longoria, Joe Macias, and Luis Acosta.
