Body As warmer temperatures begin to prevail here in the last frontier, food choices begin to change as well. Instead of the heavier and heartier fare we tend to eat during the colder months such as soups and casseroles, our food choices lean towards things like fish tacos and salads.

Body The Alpine City Council held their regularly scheduled meeting on Mar. 7 at 5:30 p.m. in council chambers. Of importance were action items including the approval of ordinances, resolutions, and a letter of support for the AFROFABFEST festival.

Body On Sunday afternoon, the Fort Davis Volunteer Fire Department was called out to a grass fire on Hwy 118 north near the old Solar Park. At around 4 p.m. it was estimated to have burned about 70 acres and was moving swiftly towards the north-east.

Body A quick response from Big Bend National Park fire personnel halted a small wildfire caused by winddowned power lines in the Chisos Mountains. At approximately 3 p.m.
