Body The Alpine ISD School Board of Trustees met on Wednesday, March 22 at the AISD administration building in a specially called meeting and board training session. All trustees were required to attend for the training.

Body The Brewster County Commissioners Court met this past Tuesday at 9:30 a.m. for their regularly scheduled meeting. The Road and Bridge department, along with Brewster County Tourism and the Sheriff’s department had agenda items of note.

Body Just 43 days before the general election, incumbent city council member for Ward 5, Jerry Johnson passed away. Johnson, a prominent citizen of Alpine, business owner, and former Mayor of Alpine was set to face former councilman Rick Stevens on the May 6 ballot.

Body On March 11 at 11:10 p.m., Jose Alfredo Aguilar-Esteban was arrested in Presidio on charges of aggravated sexual assault of a child. Presidio Police Department Officer Jose Lara made the arrest at the home of victim.
