Alpine Humane Society partnered with Fort Davis Veterinary Services for the recent Big Bend Big Fix 2 to spay and neuter 100 pets on May 14.

Donors helped subsidize the cost of the procedures, which included vaccines and other care. This is the second time Alpine Humane Society has offered a low-cost spay/neuter event for 100 pets. These clinics have included pets from Brewster, Jeff Davis, Presidio, and Reeves counties.

The Big Bend Big Fix 2 is the first time the event took place in two locations simultaneously - at the Fort Davis Clinic and at a pop-up clinic in Marathon. Alpine Humane Society will continue to honor the special event price of $45 for a spay or neuter of a pet dog or cat at any local veterinary clinic with the support of area donors.

Pet owners can request assistance with spay/neuter services, vaccines, or medical attention by calling 432-837-2532. Donors can support this effort at AlpineHumaneSociety.org, or by mailing a check to P.O. Box 1464, Alpine TX 79831.
