Davis Mountain Preserve open day
Fifty users will be permitted to enter Davis Mountains Preserve on Sunday, Aug. 1, from 8 a.m.-5 p.m.
Spots must be reserved in advance. A list will be kept of those who RSVP, and volunteers will check names at registration. To be placed on the list, email Tara Poloskey at tara.poloskey@tnc.org by or before Thursday, July 29, with a name and number of people in the group. She will respond with a reservation confirmation. Walk-ins and those without a reservation confirmation will be turned away at the gate.
There is no cost, but donations are welcomed. Maps and trail information are available at the preserve.
All visitors are encouraged to socially distance and wear a mask during registration.
Camping, fires, and pets are not permitted. Some trails are accessible from the registration area, but high clearance is required for all travel into the interior of the preserve, including to the Baldy Peak trailhead.
Bring food and water, and pack everything out.
Expect typical mountain climate - mild with unpredictable weather, so check the forecast, prepare appropriately, and assume nothing.
Cell service is not available on preserve.
Reach out to Poloskey with questions or comments, and visit nature.org/davismountainsperserve to more about the preserve, including directions and basic information about open events.
