Big things expected from Cason

Hatfield Cason is just a freshman, but his performance in cross country has been more like an upperclassman in high school thus far. He has had six top five finishes to close out a stellar freshman campaign. He finished third in District this year for his highest race of the cross-country season. He also finished third in the Bo Coffman Invitational down in Presidio.

Bucks season comes to an end in second round of playoffs

Last Friday night in Kermit the Alpine Bucks faced a football rushing machine and the number seven team in the state in the 11-0 Lubbock Roosevelt Eagles. These Eagles, along with the El Paso Riverside Rangers, were the top two teams on the Bucks schedule this season.

Gage Hotel one of the best in Texas

The Gage Hotel, built in 1927 and designed by famed El Paso architect Henry Trost, was built for its namesake, pioneer rancher Alfred S. Gage. It is now a legendary resort and more than just a place to hang your hat.

But for several churches and organizations in Alpine, making sure those who are less fortunate are provided a Thanksgiving meal is something to be cherished.

Marathon Public Library fall fundraising drive

Donations to Marathon Public Library help make its programs and projects possible. The library is now working on a Marathon Community Cookbook which will highlight the culture, food, and history of Marathon. The cookbook will capture the history of Marathon through stories, historical facts, and pictures, and the library is seeking donations.
