The Brewster County Tourism Council held their regular quarterly meeting on Monday, August 5 at 1 p.m. in the Val Clark Beard Office Complex. Council member Carol Peterson was absent, while council member John Price of Lajitas Golf Resort joined the meeting via Zoom and board member Barbara Trammell of Study Butte joined via phone. Visitors included Montie Mudd, Chris Tschacher, and Pct. 2 Commissioner Sara Colando.

Dear Neil: We have several clusters of Texas mountain laurels. They have been doing quite well for some time, but one trunk of one just checked out hurriedly two weeks ago. Another in the back of the photo shows darkened and curling leaves and is heading in the same direction. What’s going on, and is there anything we can do?
