Lady Bucks build legacy of heart and hustle

The Alpine Lady Bucks’ dominant softball season came to a close over the weekend, as they were edged out of the playoffs by Lamesa in a two-game bi-district series. After finishing a perfect 8-0 in district play, the Lady Bucks dropped game one on a walk-off and couldn’t rally in game two, ending a season that was as close-knit as it was competitive.

Meet Boots! 

This charming young tuxedo kitty came into the shelter in early April after being found abandoned at a hotel in Alpine. He loves interacting with his people, toys, treats, and a romp around the cattery. He wants to be your companion and enjoys being caressed and given attention.

AISD talks more state funding loss, presents scholarship

The Alpine ISD Board of Trustees held its regular meeting on Wednesday, April 16, in the Library at Alpine Middle School. All board members were present. Despite some good news about grant money, the district is looking at increased state defunding in terms of SHARS (School Health and Related Services) reimbursement.
