USBP and SRSU come together on horseback

The U.S. Border Patrol’s Big Bend Sector held a historic graduation ceremony on Friday, with its first-ever Horse Patrol Unit graduation ceremony at Sul Ross. Since its beginnings, the USBP has used horses in its operations. Although a shift to vehicles occurred over the years, the Horse Patrol Unit was revived in the 1970s to assist agents in navigating rugged terrain.
