The Alpine City Council met on Tuesday, June 17, for its regularly scheduled meeting. All council members were present, and Mayor Catherine Eaves presided.
The Alpine Centennial School, which, from 1936 to 1972, educated predominantly Hispanic students, will hold its fifth all-class reunion July 3-5. This educational hub of the Hispanic community has held reunions in 1996, 2000, 2004, and 2008. It will once again gather its former students together this year.
The Alpine Emergency Services Board held its regular meeting on Thursday. All board members were present, along with three guests: board bookkeeper Carole Causey, Brewster County Judge Greg Henington, and Mac Tucker.
