This past weekend, Alan and his friends were visiting an establishment in Ojinaga, Mexico, just across the border, when he was tragically struck by random gunfire. He was innocently spending time in a town that many Presidio residents and tourists frequent. This senseless act leaves many unanswered questions about how and why this tragedy occurred.

Bible course to be taught at Hillside Baptist

Are you concerned about what the Bible says on Christian issues? Not sure what the Bible really says about sin, Heaven, hell, or the Holy Spirit? Do you feel unprepared to speak about the Bible’s stand on these and many other issues? If so, you are not alone! To address the important doctrines found in the Bible, Dr. Roger Hubbard of Alpine will be teaching a 12-week course on Basic Bible Doctrine at Hillside Baptist Church. His dual teachings will begin during the morning worship service on Sunday, and he will also provide in-depth instruction on each doctrine on Wednesday nights, as well as offer a question-andanswer session.

Historic collaboration brings health care clinic to Jeff Davis County

Texas A&M Health and Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center unlock unprecedented health care access for underserved rural community Texas A&M University Health Science Center (Texas A&M Health), Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center (TTUHSC), along with local leadership and other collaborators, will join with the student-led organization, Texas A&M BUILD, to dedicate a new, innovative medical care facility for a West Texas rural community: a 40-foot, retrofitted shipping container. A ceremony featuring a ribbon cutting and keynote remarks from university and local leaders will unveil the new facility in Fort Davis, Texas, on Friday, July 11, at 2 p.m.

Gives young athletes access to high-level coaching without the travel This summer, local student- athletes will have a rare opportunity to train like the pros—without leaving town. From July 7-12, Alpine High School will host the region’s only Nike Volleyball Camp, offering girls ages 7-18 the chance to sharpen their skills under the guidance of veteran college coaches and experienced staff.
