Fort Davis honored by Keep Texas Beautiful

Body Keep Texas Beautiful (KTB), a statewide nonprofit that inspires and empowers Texans to improve their communities, has recognized Keep Fort Davis Beautiful as a Gold Star Affiliate—its highest honor for local partners.

Native Plant Society to hold cactus program

Body On Saturday, May 16, at 1 p.m., the Big Bend Chapter of the Native Plant Society of Texas will host a program on cactus and succulent rescue by Steven Lovecky. The event will be held at the Alpine Public Library, and it is open to the public; all are welcome.

Buck band receives honors

Body The Alpine Fightin’ Buck Band recently competed at the Bluebonnet Classic Festival in Burnet. The band received all 1’s from the judges, which earned them the title of Outstanding Band of the Day, along with two trophies to add to their accomplishments.

Paisano to hold girls’ camp in June

Body Attention all Paisano girls’ camp campers and their parents. Paisano Girls’ Mission Camp will be held this year, June 1-5, at the Davis Mountain Resort Baptist Church just west of Fort Davis. The camp fee is $125 per person, including counselors.
