Update puts physical wall back in national park

Body
Once again, U.S. Customs and Border Protection has updated its “Smart Wall Map.” While land and business owners upstream from Big Bend National Park and Big Bend Ranch State Park have continued to push to have the planned border wall removed and pivoted to technology-only, many whose primary concern was physical structures in the national and state parks believed they were able to breathe a sigh of relief, until last week.
This screenshot of the “Smart Wall Map” shows green lines representing a new “vehicle barrier system,” while the orange represents “technology and road patrol” within Big Bend National Park. The purple lines indicate the primary border wall where federal contracts have already been awarded according to the map legend. Screenshot/U.S Customs and Border Protection
