Sul Ross women fall to Dallas, Central Oklahoma

Sul Ross State University Women’s Basketball (1–7, LSC 0–3) continued to take positive steps Thursday evening, competing with toughness and discipline in a 43-55 Lone Star Conference matchup against the University of Texas at Dallas (4–5, LSC 1–2) at the Pete P. Gallego Center. The Lobos defended with purpose, played physical on the glass, and stayed connected throughout the contest, showing continued growth in their execution and effort as they build consistency and identity through conference play.

Skeleton crew struggles in Monahans

Body
Illness left the Alpine varsity Bucks with a skeleton crew of players to take on 3A, 4A, and 5A challengers on the hardwood in Monahans last week. The loss to Greenwood had the Bucks settling into tournament play at 6-4 before they faced Odessa High, Presidio, Del Rio, and El Paso Austin.

Maria Granado, a beloved wife, daughter, mother, and cherished friend, departed this world on December 16, 2025, in Odessa, Texas, at the age of 94. She was born on November 11, 1931, in Rincon de Romos, Aguas Calientes, Mexico. Maria’s life was a tapestry woven with her love for family, dedication to education, and her diverse interests that brought joy to those around her.
