Chester “Chet” Wilson passed away on January 10. He was born on December 26, 1930, to Lee Arthur and Claire Wilson in Rocksprings. He grew up in Del Rio where he met and married Pherba Lee Fisher on January 27, 1950.

For the past two years, Ryan Stieg has served as the president of the Big Bend Livestock Association’s (BBLSA) board of directors. While summer months are a bit slow for the board, Stieg says that come about September, things begin to speed up and get busy.

Bucks tip Presidio by one point, topple Compass Academy

The Alpine Fightin’ Bucks fought tooth and nail for victory last Tuesday in a district home game against the Presidio Blue Devils. “It is always an exciting game when we face off against Presidio,” said Aaron Hardwick, the head basketball coach for the Bucks.

The Alpine Lady Bucks battled it out for the win in a district home game last week with the Presidio Blue Devils. After the Blue Devils led on the scoreboard for the entire first half, the Lady Bucks impressively rebounded in the second, toppling the guest team 40-38.

Girl’s powerlifting takes third in Fort Stockton

The Alpine High School girl’s powerlifting team competed this past Saturday at a tournament in Fort Stockton. Out of more than 20 teams, including Midland schools and San Angelo Central, Alpine placed third overall in the competition.
