When Dr. Albert Myer joined the U.S. Army as an Assistant Surgeon, it was doubtful he thought he would spend time on the frontier of Texas, including Fort Davis. The wilds of frontier Texas were not the most desired posting.

WEEK Alpine Humane Society Pet of the Week is Waffles. Waffles is energetic and playful. He’s a friendly little guy. Waffles is a Chihuahua mix, about two years old. He’s new to the Shelter but we think he will get along well with other dogs. Such a cutie.

Burn ban, county website approved

The regular meeting of the Brewster County Commissioners Court was held on March 14 at 9:30 a.m. Of importance was the continuation of the burn ban for the county and an update for the county website. Commissioner Pct. 4, William ‘Mo’ Morrow was absent.
