The Alpine Fightin’ Buck boys basketball team whipped the Denver City Mustangs on Feb. 22, 46-31, in Monahans, avenging the Lady Bucks’ first round loss to the Denver City Fillies last Monday in the same town.
Early voting for the March 1 Republican and Democratic primary elections continues through next week, and citizens will have many opportunities to cast their ballots. All registered voters in all Brewster County precincts may cast their ballots early at the Val Clark Beard Complex, 203 North Seventh Street in Alpine.
Joanne Lara Ortega, 64, surrounded by family, gained her wings on Feb. 13, 2022. Joanne was born Feb. 7, 1958, to Brigido Lara, Jr., and Mary B. Lara. She was raised in Fort Davis, Texas, and attended all school years at Fort Davis schools.

It was a fun way to spend time with friends at the church work day at Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church in Alpine on Feb. 12.
