Girls cross country wins Wildcat Invitational

This past weekend Coach Cory Cason and her Lady Bucks placed first in the Wink Wildcat Invitational. Sophomore Tannin Ritchie finished sev enth overall, freshman Hope Dominguez came in 10th, junior Vanessa Rice placed 14th, and seniors Lauren Penders and Elizabeth Uranga finishing 16th and 21st respectively.

Lady Bucks fall to Crane

Coach Rick Garcia and his Lady Bucks had a warm homecoming with a win over the Crane Lady Birds, 3-2, last Tuesday night (20-25, 25-18, 25-14, 26-28, and 15-11). Garcia and his Lady Bucks returned home to the Gallego Center after two weeks on the road against Pecos, Wall, and various duals and tournaments around West Texas, and were rewarded by a narrow victory.

Annika Canaba and Tatyana Colon were listed among 18 others as 2021 American Southwest Conference Volleyball Players to Watch in an announcement made Aug. 27 by the conference office.

Looking forward in 2021

My second year at the helms is extra special. First of all, We have a team that is hungrier than last year. They have seen and played in the postseason, something that left a bad taste in their mouths. Losing in the Bi-District match against Littlefield left an empty feeling in everyone’s stomach.
