The Tri-County Voter Promoters will be set up in multiple locations around the area to register voters for the upcoming November 4 constitutional election. In Alpine, the voter promoters will be at the Morgan University Center on the campus of Sul Ross State University from 11 a.m.

The Texas Water Development Board (TWDB) is currently administering the second cycle of state and regional flood planning for the 2024–2028 period. As part of this initiative, the Upper Rio Grande Regional Flood Planning Group (RFPG, Region 14) is tasked with developing the 2028 Regional Flood Plan. This plan will assess current and future flood risks, recommend mitigation strategies, and identify areas for further study.

The Sul Ross State University Rodeo Team hits the S.A.L.E. Arena tonight for their first rodeo of the season and their first rodeo competition in the new Lone Star Region. This year marks 80 years of rodeo action for Sul Ross. The Avalanche spent some time at the arena last week, observing this year’s athletes during one of their daily practice sessions and speaking with a few of them.
