Alpine Humane Society Pet of the Week is Lil Roo, a white Shepherd mix. Lil Roo is a very energetic pup who, even though she looks like an adult dog, is very much still a puppy. Her previous owner described her as loveable and sweet. Roo enjoys treats, and likes to give kisses.

“CBP’s February Monthly Operational Update reflects the continued economic rebound from the depths of the COVID pandemic, with CBP officers processing more than 2.8 million shipments in legitimate trade valued at more than $236 billion. Many people in southwest Texas celebrate lent. Lent is an observation of the 40 days (about one-and-a-half months) Christ fasted in the desert. It is observed by many church denominations, most prominently Roman Catholic. Beginning on Ash Wednesday each year, observers are called upon to give up luxuries, and abstain from eating meat on Fridays until Easter.

Ingredients: 1 package salmon filets 1/2 medium white or yellow onion 1 or 2 lemons Olive oil Olive oil Lemon pepper Lemon pepper Directions: Once they have thawed, place the filets in a glass baking pan such as Pyrex, and coat it with olive oil. Then sprinkle the filets with lemon pepper, and add the chopped onion and lemon slices to the top of the filets, and use the juice of half another lemon to squeeze onto the fish.
