Body BIRTHDAY Our wonderful father Donald Snook, Iowa farmer, WW II pilot who earned his wings at Marfa Army Air Corps Base, Foreign Service and Oil Company worker in the Middle East for 18 years, and now a resident of Alpine will turn 100 years old on March 17. Congratulations, Dad!

Body WEEK Alpine Humane Society Pet of the Week is Bam Bam. Bam Bam is outgoing and enjoys the company of adults, comfortable with both men and women and children. He has a lot of energy so a home with older kids is probably best. He often walks with a 9-year-old and does just fine.

Body It’s bluebonnet season in the Big Bend, and this is an example of the Big Bend’s very own species of bluebonnet, Lupinus havardii. .

Hiker fatality in Big Bend National Park

Body On Monday, March 6 at approximately 2:45 pm, Big Bend National Park’s Communications Center received a call requesting emergency assistance along the Hot Springs Canyon Trail. The caller indicated that a 64-yearold female had collapsed and was unresponsive.
