“Caring for our seniors is perhaps the greatest responsibility we have. Those who walked before us have given so much and made possible the life we all enjoy,” stated US Senator John Hoeven. Today’s culture has sadly evolved to the point of forgetting the importance of the aging population.

What are you especially looking forward to in your senior year? I’m looking forward to graduating with a Red Cord for my continued blood donations. What activities are you involved in during your senior year? I was in band at the beginning of this year, then I moved over to athletics, and currently I am participating in tennis.

The City of Alpine broke ground for a new park last Thursday evening. The park, currently unimproved, is a collaborative effort with the city and the Texas Parks and Wildlife Recreation Grants branch.

The Alpine ISD School Board of Trustees met on Wednesday, March 22 at the AISD administration building in a specially called meeting and board training session. All trustees were required to attend for the training.

The Brewster County Commissioners Court met this past Tuesday at 9:30 a.m. for their regularly scheduled meeting. The Road and Bridge department, along with Brewster County Tourism and the Sheriff’s department had agenda items of note.
