Thomas L. Escamilla, 61, of Monahans, Texas, was welcomed into the kingdom of his heavenly Father on April 26, 2022, in Odessa, Texas.

Tommy was born May 3, 1961, in Monahans to Mario and Amalia Escamilla. He was a graduate of Monahans High School, class of 1979, where he served as a student athletic trainer. He also served as a student athletic trainer for Sul-Ross State University Class of 1984. He was married to Penny Ebensberger on September 22, 1984.

Tommy was employed by XTO (Formally Bass Enterprises). He was a Lobo band sponsor for 10 years. One of his fondest band memories is when the Lobos were in the playoffs because he was able to dress in his green and white Santa Claus suit.

Tommy served on the Ward County hospital board and Credit Union board. In 2011, Tommy and Penny were awarded the Ward County Youth Leadership award. Tommy was also a member of the Knights of Columbus, and would erect the Christmas nativity scene.

Pallbearers will be the Knights of Columbus.

Tommy was preceded in death by his parents Mario and Amalia Escamilla; brother Alex Escamilla; father-in-law Phil Ebensberger; brother-in-law Michael Ebensberger; and niece Christina Fonseca.

Tommy is survived by his wife of 38 years, Penny Escamilla; mother-inlaw Jenny Ebensberger; brothers Mario Escamilla and wife Debbie of Colorado City, Texas, and Jesus “Caboose” Escamilla of Monahans; sister-in-law Loureds Escamilla; grandsons Jayden and Jordan Jackson-Escamilla of Monahans; aunt and uncles Mable Rubulacava, Press and Amalia Escamilla, Joe and Fidela Vorrego, and Raul and Carmen Florez; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends.

The family would like to thank everyone who supported him during his long illness.
