With great sadness, Cecilia Garrett Davis, 87, of Fort Davis, passed away at Medical Center Hospital in Odessa on Monday, March 16, at 1:45 p.m. from complications due to a stroke.

She’d lived in Fort Davis since 1975, where she worked at McDonald Observatory, Prude Ranch, and was County Treasurer for three years. She loved the town and everyone in it.

A memorial service will be held at the Church of Christ in Marfa at 2 p.m. on Easter Sunday, April 5.

She is survived by her son, Cecil Davis; her daughter-in-law, Wendy Davis; her grandchildren, Josh and Madalyn Mapp; and three greatgrandchildren.
