Nov. 11, Veterans Day, is a day set aside to show appreciation for all who have served in the military. More than just a national holiday, Veterans Day is a celebration to honor those who proudly served, and were willing to sacrifice for the common good.

Everyone loves a good ghost story, and now thanks to the Alpine Historical Association, stories will come to life with the launch of a live, interactive ghost tour. The tour promises to bring lots of captivating tales to Alpine’s unique historical heritage.

The 54th annual Frank X. Tolbert and Wick Fowler International Championship Chili Cook-off and Barbecue, commonly referred to as the Tolbert or “behind the store” cookoff, took place in Terlingua Nov. 3-6. It was one of four cook-offs during that time frame, suggesting that chili culture is not slowing down despite smaller crowds than in years past.

Little ghosts, goblins, witches, and more will join in the Halloween spirit at the Marathon ISD fall fest this Friday, Oct. 29, to benefit Marathon ISD students and teachers.
