Alpine Elementary School pre-k 4 students from teacher Bianca Barrera’s class were happy to check out the Texas Department of Public Safety helicopter that made a landing on the elementary school lawn on May 20 for First Responders Appreciation Day. The school welcomed members from Alpine Police Department, Brewster County Sheriff’s Office, Alpine Fire and EMS, U.S. Border Patrol, and more as they interacted with the youngsters in a fun-filled day where they enjoyed refreshments.

“They say that the CF room in the back of Reata Restaurant is haunted. Lights go up and down. Is it because of paranormal activity, or is it just a 150-year-old house?” queried Brett Scott, Sul Ross State University Theatre Director and Friday evening’s leader of Alpine Ghost Tours.
