Scholarship motorcycle run in Fort Davis

Thin Blue Line-Law Enforcement Motorcycle Club, El Paso Chapter, presents the fifth annual Scholarship Run in Fort Davis on Saturday, April 2. Proceeds will benefit 2022 Jeff Davis and Hudspeth county high school graduates.

Alpine Humane Society Pet of the Week is Sila, who ran into an unfortunate circumstance when his owner had to move and he was forced to come to the shelter with his sister Lil Roo. Sila seems to have a little less energy than his sister, but is still playful.

It was a lucky day for Bel Dominguez of Marfa as she emerges as the happy winner of the Epic Energy Studio St. Patrick’s Day fundraiser raffle held at the dance studio in Alpine on March 15. The grand prize included a wheel barrel full of beverages, lottery tickets, snacks, drinks, and more, with proceeds going to cover costs of equipment for the Epic girls youth cheerleading gym, as well as for travel costs to Round Rock and a competition at Kalahari Resorts. On March 19 family and friends of longtime Big Bend National Park resident Eduardo Gonzalez hosted a pulled pork sandwich benefit for medical and travel expenses. Benefits in February and March raised a total of $8,000 to help the family.
