AISD talks deferred maintenance

The Alpine Independent School Board of Trustees met last Wednesday at 5:30 p.m. for their regular meeting in the school administration building. Trustees Josh Cross of District 7 and Joe Portillo of District 2 were absent.

Alpine Band headed to State Contest

Alpine High School Band traveled on Saturday, February 21-22 to compete in the UIL Solo & Ensemble Contest, turning in a day the program can be proud of. All 22 students earned either a Division II (Excellent) or Division I (Superior) rating for their performances.

Marfa students advance to State Science Fair

Marfa High School students are headed to the State Science and Engineering Fair after a strong showing at the regional competition held at the University of Texas Permian Basin. Under the direction of science teacher Lizzy Donaldson, students entered eight projects in the Regional Science and Engineering Fair.
