Ingredients: 2 large onions cut into rings 1 cup all-purpose flour 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour 1 cup milk or beer 1 egg 2 tablespoons vegetable oil 1 teaspoon salt Vegetable oil for frying Directions: Whisk one cup plus two tablespoons flour, milk or beer, egg, two tablespoons vegetable oil, and salt together in a bowl until smooth. Heat oil in a deep fryer or large saucepan to 375 degrees F.

Alpine Humane Society Pet of the Week is Catrina, a long-haired female born Sept. 8, 2021. We think we see a hint of Persian in her face. She is small in stature and, although somewhat shy, warms up quickly.

The Food Pantry of Alpine began distributing food to northern Brewster County residents on Jan. 8 at its new location at 933 East Gallego Avenue in Alpine.
