Alpine Humane Society Pets of the Week are kittens! The shelter currently has more than eight kittens like Edgar. Kittens are always best adopted in pairs and Edgar has siblings who are just as cute and charming as he is.

Alpine High School UIL academics

This school year’s redistricting brings new competitors to the field of UIL academics, just as it has for our student athletes. Alpine High School’s UIL academics sponsor, Chris Valenzuela recently had five students move on from district competition on March 23 to regional competition this past Friday and Saturday in Abilene.
Alpine High School students who placed high enough at the district level UIL competition went on to compete last Friday and Saturday in Abilene at the regional UIL competition. This year’s competitors advancing to the regional contest are, Front: freshman Lillian Stewart, senior Azra Gunes, and junior Alyssa Nanez. In back are sophomore Hatfield Cason, and senior Zane Billings.

Future Lady Bucks

Three Future Lady Bucks, Kacy Hawkins, Zariah Galvan and Taryn Hardin, traveled to Brownfield, Tx to play in the “SWING INTO SPRING” tournament with their Texas Futures travel softball team bringing home the Championship ring. The Texas Futures won 5 straight games, having to double dip their opponent Firecrackers for the Championship. All three girls had a great weekend offensively and defensively.
