Jeff Davis County looking forward to new construction, renovations

Back in June of this year, the Jeff Davis County Commissioners Court awarded a bid to El Paso construction firm Mayan SIP Manufacturing and Sales to construct a new fire and EMS bunkhouse. The construction which began in early September according to Jeff Davis County Judge Curtis Evans, is about halfway complete.

On October 27, the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Western District of Texas issued a press release stating that Patricio Javier Serrano of Marfa pleaded guilty in federal court to possession of child pornography and transportation of child pornography, along with aiding and abetting.

Alpine man sentenced to federal prison

According to a press release from the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Western District of Texas, an Alpine man, Timothy Rey Korteland, 19, was sentenced to 78 months in federal prison for the possession of child sexual abuse material.
