Lady Bucks ramp up for softball season

Softball season for the Lady Bucks is swiftly approaching with their first scrimmage already under their belt and their first neutral tournament game scheduled for February 15. On Saturday the Lady Bucks traveled to Midland for the first scrimmage against Midland and Fort Stockton teams.

Bark separation a sign of trunk decay

Dear Neil: After reading your helpful advice for a long while I now fear I need some personally. I had a relatively minor limb cut from my pecan tree less than one year ago. Now there seems to be a very large amount of bark falling from the trunk following recent winds. I don’t know if it’s related to the trimming, but I’m very concerned. What might be happening?

STEM exploration of health professions

Talent Search students at Alpine High School who are interested in a career in the healthcare professions have an opportunity to explore options later this month on February 23 through Sul Ross. Interested students may pick up an application package in the front office and applications are due by February 8 and should be turned back into the front office. For students not a part of the Talent Search program but who are interested, they may apply online.
