Suspect in custody after disturbance on Murphy Street

On the evening of Thursday, March 21 at approximately 9:17 p.m. officers with the Alpine Police Department (APD) responded to a call of possible shots fired around the 1300 block of West Murphy Street. Upon arrival, offi cers made contact with several residents in the area of the reported disturbance.

Lady Buck track takes the podium at West Texas Relays

The Alpine Buck and Lady Buck track teams traveled to San Angelo over the weekend for the 65th-annual San Angelo Relays. Facing tough competition in one of the largest track meets in the state, the Alpine Lady Bucks were able to come away with a few medals from the two-day event.

Bucks struggle in district play

The Alpine Fightin’ Buck baseball team is off to a slow start in district play thus far. Having met up with Crane and Tornillo last week, the Bucks had two hard losses going into their matchup against Stanton on Tuesday, leaving them with a 0-2 record in district play.

‘A way of life:’ Powerlifter wins state gold

The state competitions for high school powerlifting have come to an end and several Alpine competitors exhibited their Alpine Buck spirit by winning top spots and scholarship money. During the regional challenge, Enyssa Fierro, Mia Morris, Madalyn Warren and Owen Thompson qualified and performed well.
