Bucks head to Andrews for Bi-District

After a challenging season, the Alpine Bucks are headed to Andrews this weekend to take on the Denver City Mustangs. The Bucks will play their first game on Friday and their second on Saturday, with a third game scheduled a half hour after their second game on Saturday if needed.

AMS baseball teams win on the road

The Alpine Middle School baseball teams hit the road last week to Presidio, with the seventh graders taking on Fort Davis and the eighth graders taking on Presidio. Both teams were able to bring home the win.

Lady Bucks conquer as Bi-District champs

Last weekend the Lady Bucks and the Brownfi eld Cubs met on neutral ground in Wink for this season’s bi-district championship. Earlier in the week the Lady Bucks had been awarded the district championship with their great success against the Kermit Yellow Jackets 14-4.

Still time for early voting

There is still time to cast your ballots during the early voting period for the City of Alpine’s general and special elections from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. today, tomorrow, as well as Monday, April 29, and Tuesday, April 30. Registered voters have these four days left to vote for candidates running for the two city council positions.

Brewster County welcomes new emergency management coordinator

The Brewster County Commissioners Court held its regularly scheduled meeting on Tuesday, April 24. The new emergency management coordinator for Brewster County, James Etchison, was welcomed aboard by the court. Etchison is replacing the previous coordinator, Stephanie Elmore, and started the job on Monday.

“Is it historical denial or greed fueling the divide” The Alpine ISD Board of Trustees held their regularly scheduled meeting on Wednesday, April 17 at the AISD administration building. Trustees Jimmy Morris and Joe Portillo were absent.
