The Alpine Cowboys are gearing up to defend their Pecos League crown after a record-breaking 2024 campaign, and they’ll do it under a familiar face in a new role. Lance Myers, a former Cowboys standout and assistant coach, takes the reins as head manager following Sean Persky’s five-season run that netted two league titles and a 45-4 mark last year, good for the best winning percentage in Pecos League history.

The Alpine Emergency Services Board held its regular meeting on Monday at 5:30 p.m. in the Alpine Fire Department’s meeting room. Directors Mark Rose and Albert Benitez were absent due to emergencies, and Aaron Rodriguez was absent. Guest Brian Young of the Alpine Volunteer Fire Department and Vernon M. Tucker were also in attendance.
