The Big Bend Conservancy (BBC) has announced that the Big Bend National Park Boundary Adjustment Act has been introduced to Congress by Senator John Cornyn (R-TX), Representative Tony Gonzales (R-TX), and Senator Ben Ray Lujan (D-NM).

The National Weather Service out of Midland and Odessa will present a SKYWARN weather safety and preparedness seminar on Tuesday, April 8 at 6:30 p.m. in room 130 of the Turner Range Animal Science Center. The event is free, and all ages are welcome to attend. The seminar is intended to teach attendees about severe weather, severe weather safety, and the wild weather of West Texas. The Big Bend Chapter of the Native Plant Society of Texas will hold a program at 11 a.m. on Saturday, April 5, at the Fort Davis Public Library.

Dear Neil, I bought several crotons to decorate for Halloween last year. Obviously, I had them indoors over the winter, but they have faded to mostly green now. What did I do wrong, and how can I get the brilliant reds and oranges back?

HEAD OVER MEALS A good sandwich is hard to beat, but a great one is almost impossible to obtain. Or is it? Sandwiches are usually considered simple fare.

If Jesus walked into Alpine today and started preaching here, would we recognize him? Would we accept the message he preached? If he came up to us as we worked in our garden and said, “Come follow me,” would we get up and go as the disciples did so long ago? Or would our expectations of who Jesus was supposed to be cause us to reject him?
