The Alpine High School tennis courts may be quiet now, but the team is gearing up for an exciting start in January 2025. Head Coach Lauren Martinez, now entering her second season with the team, is optimistic about what lies ahead.

Juan “Johnny” O. Serrano, a cherished member of the Marfa community, passed away peacefully on August 26 in his hometown of Marfa. Born on December 27, 1934, Juan dedicated his life to his family and work, impacting those who were fortunate enough to know him.

Matilde Villanueva, born on June 2, 1937, in Shafter, peacefully departed this world on August 29 in Alpine. Her life, gracefully woven with love, family, and service, will forever be cherished by those who had the privilege of knowing her.
