Maria Antonia (Toni) Dominguez of Marfa passed away Wednesday, September 4, after a long battle with cancer. She was born on April 16, 1945, to Cresencio and Hortencia Jurado of Marfa. She was the oldest of nine children. She attended Blackwell School as a child until the family moved to El Paso.

Hallien Hart Stewart, a cherished soul whose warmth and kindness brightened the lives of many, passed away on September 8 in Terlingua at the age of 64. Born on January 24, 1960, in the vibrant city of Austin, Hallien’s life was a testament to love, compassion, and unwavering devotion.

Sue Bradford Anthony, 77, passed away on Saturday, June 8, in Austin after a battle with metastatic breast cancer. Sue was born in Alpine on October 28, 1946. Sue graduated from Alpine High School and attended Sul Ross State University.

The Brewster County Commissioner’s Court held its regular meeting on Tuesday, September 10 at 9:30 a.m. in the commissioner’s courtroom.

The 38th Annual Trappings of Texas exhibit and sale will begin tonight at the Museum of the Big Bend on the Sul Ross campus.
