Alpine Humane Society Pet of the Week is Tuco! Tuco is a very loving and outgoing dog. He is a oneyear- old Black Mouth Cur who loves long walks or runs but is also a great cuddling partner. He loves to be around people and will ask for belly rubs. He would be a great addition to any family.

The Marathon High School graduating class of 1946 will hold their commencement ceremonies on Friday, May 24 at 8 p.m. A total of six seniors will be walking the stage, including Cornelia Bennett the valedictorian and salutatorian Diana Hampton.

A Cinco de Mayo celebration will be held at the Sul Ross auditorium tomorrow evening at 6 p.m. The celebration will consist of a program of Mexican songs and dances, celebrating the Mexican national fiesta.

A formal opening, by invitation only will be held next Monday for Dr. Joel E. Wright’s new hospital plant. The new hospital is located just across the street and just south of the Brewster County Courthouse.
